Blake Walker

Blake Walker is a native of Florence, SC where he grew up playing tons of basketball. After high school, he decided to forego participating in college athletics to focus on his academics. Throughout his basketball career, he experienced a lot of nagging injuries; ankle sprains being the most frequent type, that he never rehabbed properly, which ignited his interest in the field of physical therapy.

Blake graduated from Coastal Carolina University in 2021, receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise and Sport Science. He actually interned as a student at our Florence clinic during his last semester of undergraduate school and after completing his hours, was hired on to the team as a PT Tech/Aide where he would gain even more experience. A year and a half later, he enrolled at Florence-Darlington Technical College’s PTA Expansion Program through Greenville Technical College, ultimately earning an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science, with a major in Physical Therapist Assistant in 2023. Now, he is back with us working in our Florence and Lake City clinics!

As a young clinician, Blake has worked with a variety of diagnoses, from orthopedic based conditions to neurological ones such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, and spinal cord injuries. At this time, he is most interested in sports medicine, orthopedics, and lower extremity conditions, but he wishes to be competent in all areas as his experience continues to grow. Blake firmly believes in getting people to move, utilizing exercise interventions and manual techniques as appropriate to help improve the quality of lives of others, with the intent of helping them reach their desired functional outcomes. He looks forward to ongoing learning from his coworkers and the patients he has the honor of working with.

Outside of work, Blake is the director of his 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, known as Palmetto Pride Basketball Association, where he coaches and mentors young student-athletes during the spring and summer months. He also enjoys watching Marvel movies, traveling, listening to music and working out!
