Dr. Riley Nowling – Passionate Physical Therapist Specializing in Dance & Sports Rehabilitation

Dr. Riley Nowling is a dedicated physical therapist with a strong background in sports and performing arts rehabilitation. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of South Carolina in 2024 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina Honors College with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science.

Expertise & Special Interests

Dr. Nowling’s experience as both a competitive swimmer and ballet dancer has given her firsthand insight into the dedication and physical demands required of athletes and performers. She is passionate about helping individuals recover from injuries and optimize their movement so they can continue doing what they love.

Her clinical expertise includes:

  • Sports Injury Prevention & Rehabilitation – Helping athletes safely return to their sport.
  • Performing Arts Physical Therapy – Specializing in treating dancers, gymnasts, and performing artists to prevent and recover from injuries while enhancing flexibility, strength, and endurance.

  • Movement Optimization & Injury Prevention – Utilizing strength training, flexibility work, and functional movement analysis to improve performance.

Passion for Dance Rehabilitation

With her background in ballet, Dr. Nowling has a strong interest in treating dancers and other performing artists. She understands the unique physical challenges that dancers face and is committed to providing specialized care that helps them perform injury-free, improve technique, and extend their careers.

Life Beyond the Clinic

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Nowling enjoys ballet, running, and cooking. She remains deeply connected to the performing arts and enjoys staying active in the dance community. Her personal and professional experiences make her an empathetic and knowledgeable resource for athletes and performers alike.
