Marie Shepard – Expert in Sports Rehabilitation & Running Performance
Marie Shepard is a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with a lifelong passion for sports, running, and athletic performance. Born and raised in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Marie began competitive running in high school, excelling across the Mid-Atlantic region. She continued her athletic journey at Penn State University, where she competed in Division I Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track, building a deep understanding of the demands and challenges faced by endurance athletes.
Education & Professional Background
- Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (2011) – Penn State University, with a focus on Education.
- Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Certification (2020) – Graduated from Florence-Darlington Technical College.
- Former P.E. & Health Teacher (FSD1) – Taught for five years, also coaching Women’s Soccer, Cross Country, and Track.

Marie specializes in sports rehabilitation, particularly for runners, weightlifters, and athletes returning to competition. Active Lifestyle & Personal Interests
Outside of the clinic, Marie enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs, traveling the country, gardening, and weightlifting. She remains active in the running and fitness community, continuously exploring new training methodologies to bring the best care to her patients.
